  Shodashi, Lalita and Tripura Sundari: Are They the Same? Students of Sri Vidya and Mahavidya philosophy often encounter three sacred names— Shodashi, Lalita, and Tripura Sundari . This naturally raises an important question: are these simply different names for the same Divine Mother, or do they express different aspects of Her? The names are closely connected, but each carries its own traditional emphasis. Tripura Sundari expresses the idea of supreme divine beauty and consciousness transcending the three worlds or levels of existence. Lalita emphasizes the gracious, beautiful, and divine aspect of the Goddess and is deeply connected with the Sri Vidya tradition.
