Astrology or Jyotish  Shastra is quite popular in India not only in contemporary times, but the tradition of astrology belongs to ancient India during the Vedic period. Astrology originated in Mesopotamia in the 3^rd millennium BC and gradually spread to India. There are so many people around the world who are obsessed with astrology to know the right position of stars and planets to start something new at the auspicious timing to reap the maximum benefits.

People are also much interested to know their future, like when they will get a job, get married, or will have children. Astrology is being taught as a subject in many well-renowned universities, and they also offer graduate, post-graduate, and Ph.D. degrees. So we can certainly claim that India has some of the best astrologers. 1. The person's real name and address (as per his Aadhaar card) should be there in his website.

2. A lot of people use fake degrees to make there name appear more attractive  Guruji, Guruma, Gold Medalist, Baba, Maharaj, etc. Are common titles used by people claiming to be Astrologers. One should always check their authenticity in order to avoid being fooled.

3. These days, most people having any device with an internet connection download free softwares from the web and start seeing clients without any knowledge of astrology , whatsoever. The number of such people have increased vastly during this lockdown, probably because of unemployment and greed to sell a couple of gemstones, amulets, etc.

4. If somebody claims to have an experience in this field (of 15-20 years), one should always try to cross check whether this is true or not.

5. It should be checked whether the astrologer is consulting clients at an authentic location or not. These days, many people rent chambers for a couple days to fool people, sell them fake gemstones and then run away.

6. One shouldn't blindly judge the authenticity/popularity of an Astrologer simply by looking at the number of reviews that that person has in Google. One should at least try to check if that review came from an authentic account or not.

7. There are a lot of institutions coming up these days, which take money from Astrologers and arrange for them to take prizes from famous celebrities including actors and politicians.
